Biddeford Budget Sees Little Chance Of Tax Hike

City auditor Paul Gobeil told Biddeford council that a drastic valuation change is needed for any tax increase in 1975 after a first reading of a proposed 6 million budget. He noted the budget is 117,089 below last year and that the final figures will appear on a second reading. The council, after few changes, also reviewed the 32 million school budget, considering possible losses from SD 1994 revisions and potential cuts, with salaries negotiated and a modest overall rise deemed reasonable.
