Mother and son die in Marenisco house fire
A Marenisco mother Mrs Nick Petrovich age 17 and her nine months old son Robert died when their home on M 64 two miles south of the village burned Wednesday morning at 4 90. The boy escaped but was hospitalized in Waukegan to receive care. Authorities believe the blaze started accidentally.

Ontonagon Pioneer Joseph Stevens Dies at 73
Joseph Stevens 73, a retired miner and longtime Mass mine pioneer, died Tuesday night in Ontonagon. A Mass mine veteran, he moved to Bessemer in 1922 to work in local mines until 1934 before returning to Ontonagon. Survived by a daughter Mrs. Henry Johnson of Alpena and a step daughter Mrs. Joan Kleps of Ontonagon, plus three brothers and three sisters. Burial services set for Friday in Bessemer.
