Bessemer City Council Approves 1949 Claims and Harbor Plan
The Common Council of Bessemer Michigan met June 21 1948 in the council chamber. They approved payment of general and power fund claims including labor and board of review items, considered a fire alarm box for the Ironton mine, discussed road oil supply from Standard Oil, and authorized a street light installation. They adopted a Harbor of Refuge resolution for Black River Harbor and approved licenses transfers and a $100 donation to the 4th of July celebration. A flasher light for the fire truck was authorized and a Johnson Road street light installation was pursued.
