Family of Mazanec marks golden wedding anniversary
The Mazanec family mourns the passing of the husband and father who died after the couple’s golden wedding anniversary. Surviving relatives include two daughters Miss Anne Mazanec Two Rivers Wis and Mrs Beasle Dillenberg Shawa no Wis five sons Alois Waupaca Wis Anton Antigo Joseph Milwaukee and George Bernard both of Bessemer thirteen grandchildren and one brother Charles of Berwyn Ill Funeral services were held at St Sebastian church with Rev C J Swoboda presiding Pallbearers Leonard Kalasavicz Paul Steiger Raymond Skwor Rodolph Hans James Jesek and Frank Brighenti Burial followed at Hilicreat cemetery.

Superintendent E. J. Oas learns from Lt. Gen Waiton H. Walker that A. D. Johnston high school's ROTC unit received superior ratings in administration training and the command. The Bessemer unit also earned superior ratings under Major Martin C. Grigg and Sgt Becheits in the recent inspection.

Two New Coaches Hired Here At Local School
Supt B J Oas announced two athletic coaches from Superior State Teachers College will split boys physical education and coaching duties. John Bruckbauer and Warren Smith replace Helge Pukema and Robert Shackton, both departing. Smith to coach football track and assist Bruckbauer who leads basketball and baseball. Both will also teach at the high school. each is 26 and WW2 veterans with notable sports backgrounds.
