Capitol Flashes Lansing Here on Capitol Hill
In Lansing elective state officers worry that November voters may blame them for any local democracy backlash. Some fear wholesale state employee firings would alienate voters. Leo J. Nowicki’s moves are seen by some as skilled boxing. Senator Miles Callaghan of Reed City, a Republican, aided civil service shifts. Democrats protected voters by adopting the single ballot for primaries. Rainfall remains heavy in reports from the Upper Peninsula. The state’s auditor’s office stands claimed by long-standing prerogatives dating back to early frontier days per Michigan Digest.
