Former Bessemer Residents Die in Two Car Crash
Three women from Ironwood and Minneapolis died in a head on collision on US-51 nine miles north of Woodruff Wisconsin during a thunderstorm Sunday at 7:50 p.m. William Remick was hospitalized in fair condition. The Vilas County Sheriff's Department is investigating the cause of the crash.

Mrs Woodward K Gray Sr 73 of 300 E Longyear St died Sunday June 5 at Divine Infant Hospital Wakefield after a brief illness. Born Goldie Gearhart in Mellen Wisconsin March 12 1893 she married Woodward K Gray Jan 24 1916. She belonged to Bessemer First Presbyterian Church Dorcas Chapter OES Golden Age Club County Seat Home Extension Study Club and VFW Auxiliary. Funeral Tuesday at 2 p m Frick Zielinski Funeral Home burial Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers were sons Walter Donald Woodward Jr and sons in law Donald Elliott John Matonich Clarence Winkowski. Out of town mourners listed.

Drowning Tragedy Claims David Rigotti at Lake Gogebic
David Rigotti of Anvil Location drowned Tuesday while fishing off shore near Merriweather Bridge on Lake Gogebic. A witness wife saw him struggle to reach shore. a boat found the body 10 minutes later, face down about 50 yards from shore. He was pronounced dead at Divine Infant Hospital Wakefield. Funeral set for Saturday 10 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church Ramsay.

In Bessemer Township, two trustees for three year terms are to be chosen with incumbents Alfred C Lund and George C Mussatti unopposed.
