Leaders Hear Speakers At Weeklong Playground Institute
Playground personnel heard four speakers Tuesday and last night on public relations and publicity at the Leaders Training Institute at the Boys Club. More than 100 attended Monday's opening session as 20 Longmeadow playground workers joined attendees. City officials noted water restrictions will make jobs harder this year but cited the program as a sound investment in reducing delinquency.

Police Briefs Report Wallet Thefts Near Pontoosuc Lake
Two wallets were stolen from a car near the Blue Anchor area at Pontoosuc Lake Monday night. One wallet belonged to Robert Stimeli of 22 Overlook Road and held about $20, the other to Eugene Arthur of 22 Overlook Road containing $8. A $15 watch was also taken from Albert Hayford of 659 Churchill Road. A separate call reported a man using a lawn hose during water restrictions on Lincoln Street. police ordered him to stop. Naylor Taliaferro Sr. said his son Robert, 15, was injured in a minor accident on Hawthorne Avenue Sunday, receiving a nose bleed at St. Luke's Hospital.
