Leader Block set for renewal in Bennington plan
Bennington allocates no 247000 HUD grant to acquire most of the Leader Block for demolition and relocation of six families. Town and housing authority seek further HUD funds for a 50 unit senior complex, while riverfront improvement and a North Street walkway are planned. Dowtown design competition had anticipated renewal with Leader Block as a greenway along Walloomsac.
