Ex-Manchester man dies linked to Springfield heroin surge
Pittsfield Massachusetts. Gerald G Greenleaf 25 formerly of Manchester Vermont died at Berkshire Medical Center after an apparent heroin overdose. Police say the concentrated 69 percent heroin linked to Antonio Caballero Springfield last week may be involved. Samples will be tested at UMass Amherst and state police lab in Boston. Greenleaf and a friend visited Pittsfield Friday night. Greenleaf left for Springfield Saturday and returned ill. Authorities say he is one of several overdose victims in the Springfield area.
