Bennington Rescue Squad Grows Into Public Ambulance Service
In rural Bennington, a volunteer squad formed April to fill a gap after a professional ambulance left the area. From six to 29 members, two ambulances, and new equipment, the group handles calls from Bennington Woodford and Shaftsbury with mutual aid in Pownal. They train on first aid and resuscitation, face fundraising challenges, and seek a permanent facility.
