Sailor Home From Sea Returns After Six Week Training Cruise

Midshipman J C Ronald Gratz of Shaftsbury completed a six week training cruise aboard the Mississinewa AO144, an attack oiler, as part of ROTC at RPI. The voyage included Atlantic crossings, naval exercises north of England, four days leave in Portsmouth London sight seeing, and refueling duties on every other night. A hurricane diverted the ship south of Bermuda, causing 30 degree rolls in 30 knot winds, but Gratz reported good weather overall and docking at Newport last Tuesday.
