Officials Question If Regional Compacts Work in New England
Officials from six New England state universities express disappointment with NEBHE regional co op programs designed to widen course offerings at in state rates. In 1965 only 372 of about 50 000 students enrolled in regional programs, a drop of 33 from the prior year. Leaders urge goal redefinition and closer cooperation, noting uneven freshman access and lingering loyalties hinder transfer and joint programs.
