Sharps and Flats Musical Daring at Bennington College
The Bennington College Community Orchestra under Henry Brant performs Debussy Afternoon of a Faun, Brahms Double Concerto, and Brant's Sing O Heavens. The fall run featured bold, sometimes uneven, orchestral readings with soloists Sharon Powers Orren Pernel George Finckel and Marc Ozanich. Audiences heard a fresh interpretive approach despite limited forces and the unpredictable cast. The review anticipates a spring season of renewed experimentation.
