BENNINGTON COUNTY joined six counties meeting or beating its cancer crusade quota, with $11,234.88 raised toward a $9,500 target as Vermont totals reached $105,431.10. New Books For Children Show At Bennington Exhibit
Parents teachers and area librarians can view 600 new children's books from 1965 published by 58 American publishers. Displayed at Bennington Elementary School during school hours the traveling collection loaned by Books on Exhibit Mount Kisco NY offers picture books adventure stories history science and sports for kindergarten through grade nine. Free annotated catalogs aid attendees and many ideas for Christmas gifts are suggested by the display.

Underwriters Group Holds Meeting
WILMINGTON The first monthly meeting of the 1965 66 season of the Southern Vermont Life Underwriters Association was held at the Long Jim Restaurant Wednesday. Members supported three public service projects for the coming year Heart Fund Medic Alert and a student education project with the National Life Underwriters Association. Guest speaker Clifford Thacher trust officer for the Vermont National Bank spoke on life insurance trusts.
