New Route 7 ready by 75 says department map shows plan
The Vermont Highway Department released an aerial map detailing the new Route 7 north from Deer Park in Bennington. It shows cloverleaf ramps to Park Street and near the U.S. 7 and Vermont 67A intersection, with connections to Northside Drive and the Flats area. The design includes western beltline elements, a wandering Walloomsac River course, and a parallel present Route 7 line. About 100 properties may be acquired after appraisals by an Albany firm, with state offers following. Construction is slated to begin next year for a 1975 completion.
