Airport owner dies in area plane crash near Averill Park
In thick fog the plane owned by Rensselaer County Air Park operator Hugo Ferguson 40 and passenger Mark Sherwin 27 crashed near Route 6 Averill Park after circling Troy area. Ferguson died later at Albany Medical Center while Sherwin remained in serious condition at Samaritan Hospital. A policeman on routine patrol first reported the crash.
