Water pollution source to end with Crawford house removal

Bennington town officials expect the Crawford house site above Bolles Brook to be razed by week’s end, eliminating a pollution source for the surface water supply. Town Manager Lamb warned long range plans may push toward filtration facilities, while noting other nearby homes pose no contamination risk. A future reservoir could allow swimming and boating, but would require property acquisitions if pursued.
