Police Mum On Assault Report In Manchester

Police say both state and local authorities are investigating an assault reported early this morning by Mrs. Gordon Hurley of Barnumville Road. She said she was awakened in her bedroom after being struck on the head by an unknown assailant who fled after her screams. Mrs. Hurley, director of the Joyce Hurley School of Dance, was alone with her two children Kimberlee and Jeffrey when the attack occurred. She telephoned a business associate of her husband, who found her bleeding from a deep scalp wound.
