AMA Declines Endorsement of U S Report on Smoking and Health
The AMA House of Delegates declined to endorse the 1964 Surgeon General Luther Terry report linking smoking to lung cancer and respiratory disease. The committee favored not wholly endorsing the report while noting ongoing AMA study of smoking health. Separately, passage of a warning label for cigarette packages was approved in the House.
