Selectmen Support Outside Town Vote On Unification Plan
Bennington selectmen discussed a proposed town unification charter and favored allowing the outside town to vote separately on the question, though the committee ultimately planned a single initial townwide vote with later village and rural fire district referendums. The plan includes tax relief for outside voters to lessen opposition and includes debate over potential minority veto issues and tax adjustments for rural taxpayers.
