Williams To Discuss Water Bill With House Committee
Village Attorney John H. Williams II travels to Montpelier to discuss a proposed bill with Municipal Corporations Committees. The measure would extend debt repayment on water expansions from 20 to 40 years and lower the tax vote to a majority for water system bonds. Williams notes concerns about a self supporting requirement and potential impact under the Putnam Deed of Gift. He suggests exemptions for gifts with special conditions to avoid debt limits, citing drought relief as legislative support.
