Low Progressive Enrollment Hurts Petitions in New York City
New York July 14. Less than seven percent of Progressive party members in the city enrolled this year. With only 4 percent of enrolled voters needed to back a petition, nominating by petition seems unlikely. City enrollment is 12 373. Roosevelt and Straus votes last year were 188 869 and 194 479 respectively. Statewide enrollment will likely be under ten percent of Roosevelt’s vote, about 390 021.
