Police report multiple hit and run incidents and a theft
Police responded to a hit and run in the 2700 block of North Main and another in the 2000 block of Garth Road. A collision involving a vehicle and bicycle occurred in the 600 block of Martin Luther King. A carpet shampooer valued at 145 dollars was stolen from a garage in the 4500 block of Pueblo Trail. A 67 year old man was reported missing after leaving his residence in the 10 block of EE Nazaro. An elderly woman burning paper in a fireplace caused smoke in Walnut Ridge Condominiums. A woman claiming quality control work was arrested in the 6000 block of North State Highway 14 for possession of a controlled substance.

Baytown Police Log Shows 43 Offense Reports
Between Thursday and Friday morning Baytown police filed 43 offense reports and investigated incidents including eight assaults one auto theft four burglaries three burglaries of motor vehicles one criminal mischief one disorderly conduct one forgery six thefts twelve other arrests and thirteen miscellaneous cases. Officers also handled thirteen traffic accidents two with reported injuries.

Memorial honors Baytown firefighter Gagne III
Gagne III, an 18 year veteran of the Baytown Fire Department, is honored in a memorial read during a role call of honor. He died July 26, 2011 after starting his career with Crosby Volunteer Fire Department and serving in the Navy. The tribute notes his work on HAZMAT BEAT Alley youth fire prevention and a regional collapse rescue team. The memorial also recognizes national honors from the IAFF and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation with commemorative pavers funded by local supporters and built through joint city and foundation efforts.
