Harris County toll road rate hike hits commuters hard
Harris County Toll Road Authority raised tolls at 12:01 am increasing EZ Pass fees from 1.30 to 1.40 and cash rates from 1.50 to 1.75. Daily traffic on the system reaches about 400,000 vehicles with revenues rising to more than 100 million in 2011. The higher rates affect Sam Houston Tollway Westpark Tollway Hardy Toll Road and Fort Bend Parkway Extension crossings.
