Hidalgo county men challenged their convictions on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Habeas corpus petitions were denied Wednesday by the Court of Criminal Districts. Judge W A Morrison wrote the opinion overruling defense arguments and upheld the sentences.

Development of the Plumwood addition north of the Richardson addition on Highway 146 continues at a fast pace with 41 houses either completed or under construction. In Cedar Buka water district, improvements started in November and one section has City of Baytown final approval. Twenty five houses completed, at least 16 under construction, with space for 390 homes. Homes are all-priced three bedrooms, some with one and a half baths, prices from 11000 to 16000, some have double garages. Street and sewer lines have been completed. Officials said FHA and VA approvals were obtained for the homes, with some VA loan options and up to 30-year plans.
