West Main widening and bond issues in Baytown history
In 1953 city crews widened West Main from Bryan to the West Baytown Y from 20 to 34 feet at a cost of 20000. In 1937 Goose Creek school district officials approved a 450000 bond to fund new buildings to ease overcrowding. In 2003 the Texas Ethics Commission found credible evidence that two sections of the state elections code were violated in the 2002 Baytown general election. Norman Hargrave signed an open order and agreed on a resolution for failing to provide disclosure statements on political advertising and for not reporting campaign expenditures over 100, Andrew Lannie said.
