Two Educators Give Back Transforming a Troubled Student
A husband and wife teaching team in their fifties adopt a troubled 17-year-old African American boy, Shawn, giving him a bedroom, meals, and 24 7 guidance. Within weeks his life improves dramatically, earning praise from fellow teachers as they recall coach Joe Bailey Cheaney's “leave at the same time” philosophy. The incident prompts gratitude from the educators and a sense of shared purpose.
