Lee College forms presidential search committee
The Lee College Board of Regents approved forming a presidential search committee to replace outgoing president Dr. Michael Murphy who will not seek renewal in January 2012. Gold Hill Associates will lead the national search with an advertisement planned in The Chronicle of Higher Education. The faculty seek representation and active involvement in interviews. Budget and staff were discussed, including hiring a web service manager and a salary increase. See president page 5A.

Baytown killer Joseph Jean sentenced to death in double murder

Chambers County wide fireworks ban clarified

City employee earns public manager certification with honors
Public Works utilities superintendent Donald Curry recently graduated magna cum laude from Bellevue University with a bachelor of science in business management and completed the Texas Certified Public Manager Program at the University of Houston. The ceremony at the State Capitol brought certification signed by Governor Rick Perry.
