Proposed surface highway to remove traffic dangers

The State Highway Department considers a new Bath road entry near Court Street to connect straight to High Street between Center and Grante streets with an underpass under High Street. A surface approach to the bridge from High Street may replace the planned ramp over multiple streets and tracks due to steel delays. If federal support labels it military infrastructure, funds and steel could allow the original ramp plan. otherwise the underpass route may proceed to reduce bottleneck dangers and ease winter travel.
