Herman Spinney of Bay Point pleaded guilty in Municipal court to unlawfully using his store as a common gambling house and was fined 40 dollars plus 9.50 in costs or 30 days in Augusta jail. Three still alarms kept the fire department busy Thursday night and Friday forenoon though none of the blazes reached serious proportions. Engine four was to the M C R R wharf at 6 20 Thursday evening and booster pumt put out flames in timbers. At 8 32 Friday morning a chimney fire at Joseph A Michaud 26 Wesley Lane drew Engine Four again with booster. Returning from this call the crew rested until 10 20 when they went to Mrs Angeline M Jenkins 533 High street for another chimney fire but no water was needed.
