Tax Valuation Equalization Change Across Tax System

Towns and cities are required to value property at full value, but actual assessments range from thirty to one hundred percent. Maine Considers Seven Point Plan to Simplify Fishing Laws
A Maine Department study divides fish into farm and cold water types and proposes a seven point program for simplification. Key ideas include two bag limits for cold water species, a seven and a half pound weight limit, six inch trout and fourteen inch togue and salmon length limits, standardized season dates, and banning inland gill netting. The plan also calls for removing special regulations on still, trolling, and plug fishing and easing restrictions on some warm water species. Continued on Page Five.
