The bride wore beige with navy accents. the groom wore a dress uniform. She is the daughter of Robert J Smith. he is the son of James E Heywood.
Local rationing boards announce May registration dates for sugar registrants and retailers. Individuals without sugar must register first for War Book No 1 at the courthouse after May 21. Retailers must register before delivering sugar and cancel excess stock via War Ration Stamps or certificates.
Mrs Charles McCurdy and Mrs Frank Keegan of Lubec with son Myron Foregan of South Port returned Monday after a weekend visit with Judge and Mrs John J. Keegan on Grove Street. They came from a South Portland visit by Lieut Comin, and Ed ward Fitzgerald of Concord, Mass. has gone to Kennebec Bay Harbor for their summer home opening. They called on Mrs Charles Fitzgerald of Oaks Street. The Winters were spent in Tennessee, while Mr and Mrs Alec Robertson of Manchester by the Sea welcomed friends who opened their summer home on the Kennebec.

Miss Marilyn Kimball daughter of Mr and Mrs Joseph S Kimball celebrated her ninth birthday last Wednesday from four to six in her home at 292 Center Street. Schoolmates attended and games included a candy hunt tie between Constance Carlisle and Edgar Black and a ring toss won by Gilbert Prawer. Refreshments and a lighted cake were served to a group of friends and family.

Mrs. Margaret Gallant of 89 Green Street announces the engagement of her daughter Mary Edna to Harry Everett Cooke Jr son of Mr and Mrs Harry E Cooke of Milwaukee Wisconsin and Bath Miss Gallant a Morse high school graduate of 1934 and employed at Shaw s Book Store Mr Cooke works in the machine shop at Bath Iron Works Corp No date for the wedding has been set Also noted are the Horne family placing their summer home at Georgetown and leasing their Bath residence to the Moores of Bangor both recently arrived with Mr Moore employed at Bath Iron Works.
