Proposed Park Parkway Along Androscoggin River To Bath

A Brunswick to Bath parkway along the Androscoggin River is proposed to be funded by the Maine ERA and State Highway Commission. The route would run from Brunswick through Merrymeeting Park to the current Bath road, removing Cook's Corner railroad crossing with overpass improvements. The plan envisions ERA landscaping, anticipated higher property values, and careful land use along Water Street and the riverbank. The idea aims to reduce traffic conflicts, support local development, and be presented to the highway commission with estimated costs and routing details.
