Veteran Commander Visits Bath on 93rd Birthday
Capt. John P. Blake of Richmond observed his 93rd birthday with a birthday supper at his nephew D. A. Pinkham’s Beedle road home. He is stepfather of Mrs. Abner J. Wilson of Court street and Mrs. Susan Varnum of Millinocket. Born June 12 1842 in Boothbay Harbor he served in the Civil War from 1862 to 1865 and later captained fishing vessels to the Grand Banks and West Indies.
