Attempt to Make Poor Board Head A Full Time Job
The Overseers of the Poor debate making the superintendent post full time with a 1200 dollar salary. The measure would bar the current chief clerk Sidney L. Eaton from serving next year if kept at Bath Iron Works, while allowing partial time service now. Finance committee argues for best man and cost containment, with the ordinance returning to council for final action.
