A float from the City landing at Broad Street was recovered near Popham after drifting away about two weeks earlier. The outer float, hauled out years ago and repaired at cost, was brought ashore by Clinton C. Newdick of Popham after attaching a line to the ice and fighting the elements. Officials planned to tow it back to Bath and likely not haul out more floats this winter.
