About 45 representatives from Maine lodges attended the December quarterly session of the United Order of Independent Odd Ladies at Myrtle lodge No 8 in Odd Fellows hall. Officers presiding included Mrs. Sadie Boise and Miss Elizabeth Litchfield, with several sisters honored as new government officers and two members remembered in a charter drape. A noon meal and evening meeting with initiation followed as routine business proceeded.

Bath dairy break leads to arrest of Norman Pierce
Patrolman Davis shot at a fleeing suspect during a break in at Oakhurst Dairy on Brunswick road. Norman V. Pierce was arrested at his home and arraigned for breaking and entering and larceny with an alleged accomplice still sought. Pierce pleaded not guilty, claiming he was at a lunch cart after 8 pm. The damage totaled over 40 dollars with minor loot of milk bottles and change.

In municipal court Judge John J. Keegan arraigned a 19 year old Bath lad on larceny for stealing 14 containers of ice cream and one pound of butter from Gulf Filling Station last Saturday. The boy pleaded guilty and, due to poor health, was placed on a year of probation.
