Mystery Surrounds Sounding Fire Alarm
An alarm at box 48 Academy and Page streets drew firefighters to a neighborhood Thursday afternoon, but no fire was found. Police and residents saw no one near the box or any sign of who rang in the alarm. Assistant Chief Engineer Edward Miller suggested a possible car strike causing wire contact, but no culprit was identified. Also reported, Sagadahoc and Androscoggin Farm Bureaus held an outing at Sandelin Farm with a clam bake and 4-H club volunteers serving refreshments.
