Labor and management underlines in postwar wage debate

A discussion on labor benefits and government taxes contrasts the old employer driven system with New Deal welfare. It cites fringe benefits adding 20 percent to payrolls in 1953 per 500 firms, and argues that costs are borne by consumers. The piece calls for education, local problem solving, and civic engagement to balance power and recognize interdependence. Fred Jones, Bath Daily Times foreman, joined the club with several guests from various cities and states.
