A Berlin radio broadcast says 1st Lieut. Donald M. Marshall of Bath, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen S. Marshall, is in a German hospital after a bombing mission. He was missing since June 13 and is now reported wounded with a leg amputated below the knee but improving. Marshall, a Morse High and University of Maine graduate, later joined Pratt & Whitney before entering the Army Air Force. His brother Stephen S. Marshall, Jr. returned home for a visit.

The Bath Iron Works Plant Area Panel of the local War Price and Rationing Board held its first session at the Employes Transportation yard office. J. Frank Hant presided as chairman with most of the panel present.
