New Meadows Bridge history traced from 1855 to present
An historical note in Bath Brunswick region recounts the seven bridges spanning the New Meadows River, tracing Bull Rock Bridge origins from a corduroy path to a toll Turnpike and Shun Pike, with Bath and Brunswick efforts shaping the modern crossings and route changes through the 19th century. The piece cites legal actions from 1852 and 1855 and community trade interests tied to bridge rebuilding and road alignments.

Meadowbrook Golf Club House Demolished by Neglect
The Meadowbrook Golf Club house in Bangor, built over 30 years ago with a five hole course, collapsed as the roof gave way after years of disrepair. It stood near two tennis courts where Paul C. Savage once won the local championship, and sat on Dr. William C. Peters place. After the new Meadowbrook Golf Club formed, officials deemed repairs unprofitable and the building was left to rot until this week.
