Maine Tops January Used Fat Output Record
Maine produced 107367 pounds of used household fats in January, eight thousand pounds above early estimates. The state reached 80 percent of its 134166 pound monthly quota, the highest Maine has achieved, and it matches the national January average. A War Production Board re check may lower quotas, as surveys show some states overstate potential fat yields. The OPA totals include fats not given ration points.
