Local items report numerous Basin Grey Bull Thermopolis and Tensleep visits and business trips by G J Schenk W Snow J F Webber Mrs J J Rech and others. Several marriages licenses and notices of sales lost items fishing trips and a movie bill at the Rex mark a typical week.
Hyattville is pitched as a top Yellowstone Trail stop with two mountain streams Paint Rock and Medicine Lodge running through the village. The town offers rental and recreation on a good road and hosts a notable Riverside Inn run by Mrs. Lockhart, drawing travelers and railroad towns for nature outings on Sundays.
C W Charleson and several railway workers are in Basin examining county records. They gave no statements for publication but are believed to be reviewing railroad valuations under Congress orders to adjust property values for taxation.
D. E. Cupplenull of the Big Horn Heating and Plumbing Co Greybull says the firm won a major Idaho contract and that Mr Atkins is there doing preliminary work He adds they are securing many Basin country contracts and plan to establish a Basin branch soon.
The Republican reports a limited supply of garden and flower seeds donated by Congressman Mondell for free distribution. Residents may claim seeds by visiting the Republican office while supplies last.
A Wednesday evening farewell party and dance honored Miss Hazel Stein at her residence. Guests included Inez Irwin, Lennis Irwin, Nannie Myers, Leota Perkins, Edna Agee, Luther Judkins, Hugh Davidson, Otto Frisbie, Earl Colley, Private Kerst, and Dr. Walker. The gifted Mr Walker was praised for singing with notable style. Lunch was served at 11 30 by Mrs G E Brigham and Mrs Allen Borden, as attendees departed. Special thanks were given to Mrs Carl Wilson for covering the switchboard duties during the event.
Discharged men of the late war are urged to attend memorial services for the nation’s dead on Memorial Day May 30 at 10 30 in Fraternity hall Basin. Gather at the courthouse before the hour to join the G A R procession under whose auspices the services will be held. Mrs Agnes K Snow Red Cross Canteen and Welcome Home Chairman.
The Great Western Sugar company will award 145 dollars in prizes for the six best sugar beets shown at the Big Horn county fair. District prizes give 30 dollars per fieldman’s district and a 15 dollar grand prize for the best overall. Open to all growers with 1919 contracts at Billings and Lovell factories.

Mrs D T Hand hosted a birthday party for her son Hiram Darby last Saturday afternoon to mark his fifth birth anniversary. Friends attended and games and refreshments followed the celebration.
