The Kaibab National Forest locates a large deer herd and opens a month long hunting season from October 1. Routes from San Francisco Bay, Los Angeles, and other districts are described, detailing paved and gravel segments to Barstow and on to Kaibab via Arrowhead Trail and Zion. Hunters may use large caliber rifles in three districts. maps, licenses, and guides are available at camps and Kane Ryan stations.
