Desert Section Leads In Production Of Fine Turkeys
The desert section of San Bernardino county leads turkey production per a survey by A. L. Campbell, noting dry climate reduces disease and boosts quality. Desert districts like Hinkley-Harper Lake and Adelanto show strong counts totaling 11,215 turkeys, with additional county regions adding about 7,700. Prices run about sixty cents a pound, and large desert flocks aimed at Los Angeles markets contrast smaller ranch flocks for local use.
