The Treasury under Secretary Mellon calls for payment of all outstanding Second Liberty Loan bonds on November 15, 1927. Interest ends that date and about 1.76 billion dollars are outstanding. A radio announcement will inform bondholders. Remnant holdings include about 30 million in government securities with ceased interest, plus limited-issue temp bonds with old coupons.
