Barstow High Faces Space Crunch From Rising Enrollments
The report notes Osdick and Kramer Elementary have not sent data while Barstow High's February enrollment stands at 188 with 19 potential graduates. If 114 return next year, enrollment could reach 176, but the 1916 building cannot house even 150, let alone 175. Proposals call for enlarging science, manual training, domestic science, and commercial rooms, adding two regular classrooms, a study and library, and a large assembly room.

Hinkley ranch projects expand in Harper Lake district

Ray Kelly operates a concrete irrigation pipe maker. The Hinkley foreman’s home now features a player piano. Sixteen workers are building a large cement reservoir at the Victor York ranch, one of the area’s largest. York owns 40 acres in alfalfa and will likely expand after the reservoir completion. A seven room residence on the York ranch nears completion.
