Lawrence Beimer celebrated his ninth birthday with third grade friends and their teacher from three to five with jello cake and refreshments.

Needles Town Teams Meet On High School Court Saturday

On February 22 the Needles town basketball team will play the local town team at 2 30 P M on the high school court. Come and root for the local boys. Mrs James nee Miss Ella White a former Barstow assistant postmaster now living in Needles has been visiting her husband a local switchman.

Mrs Frances Read and James Read with Mrs BBF Gauldin and relatives from Moorpark Ventura county traveled by car to Barstow and Calico to visit Mrs Lane Mrs King and Mrs Zwalena. Deskins stayed in Barstow a week. Mrs King and Mrs Read, who crossed the plains in 1868, had not seen each other since that year.

Orange Show Visitors Make the Rounds

Mr and Mrs Jo EB Tiernan visited the Orange Show last Saturday afternoon and met Joe Chambers now of Los Angeles. Lea Leahy, recently treated in Redlands, looked improved at the show. Frank Butts and Hazel Ryerse of Daggett admired the color scheme. Walter Roberts of Victorville recalled Barstow days and offered a tip for this year. Ogden Platt stopped by on Sunday as did Mr and Mrs Dick Young and son. Mrs Millett of Daggett and her daughter Grace visited Saturday night and praised the Fresno exhibit. Mrs Reece Dillingham saw the show Monday.
