Auto Tourists From East Visited Barstow Last Month

February traffic through the Barstow junction of the National Old Trails and Arrowhead Trails highways totaled 9,229 entering Southern California. Vehicles exceeded February 1929, with 2,780 machines checked. most were foreign-registered, and 1,864 carried non California plates while 916 bore California plates.

After a stiff westerly wind, a gentle Tuesday rain added needed precipitation to raise the season’s totals to near last year’s level. The February service bulletin notes a heavy storm at Bishop Creek Gem Lundy and Rhinedollar with a weighted seasonal average of 33.168 pounds by February 24, close to last year’s 33.29 and well below the normal 75.56 by February 28.

Ore Shipping Expands From Muroc Dry Lake Plant
