Insurance Salesman Sentenced in Hollywood Court

A. E. V. French of Hollywood received a sixty day jail term after conviction for petty theft of $15 from W. H. Ross. Prosecutors say French used forged checks by altering dates and cashing them after obtaining signatures. His alleged operations spanned Barstow to Goffs and Victorville.

Mrs. Lillie returned Friday from a visit at her mother home in Flandeau South Dakota. Mr and Mrs Earl Gates left last week for Kansas City Missouri for several week vacation. Pierce Avenue and Crooks Avenue are being oiled and put in good condition. The residents along the way are pleased with the work. Waterman Canyon between San Bernardino and Lake Arrowhead is completely oiled excepting a portion between Squirrel Inn and Pine Crest. Dr H C Hall of Pasadena returning home from a trip to Las Vegas stopped here overnight Saturday. Dr Hall was a practicing physician here a number of years ago.
